Google Sign-In
Purpose
Google Sign-In lets staff access Immigranter with a verified Google account instead of entering an Immigranter password.
Account Rules
- Existing Immigranter users can link Google when the verified Google email matches their account email.
- New users can sign up with Google when public registration is enabled. Google-created users are marked email-verified immediately and are redirected to the dashboard after sign-in.
- When public registration is disabled, a new Google user must have a valid team invitation for the same email.
- A user email cannot be linked to two different Google accounts.
- Google must return a verified email address.
Invitation Workflow
- Invite a team member from Settings > Users.
- The invited person opens the registration link.
- They select Accept invitation with Google.
- Google must return the same email used by the invitation.
- Immigranter creates and verifies the account, marks the invitation accepted, and signs the user in.
Existing Password Account
Immigranter does not automatically link Google based only on a matching email:
- Select Continue with Google.
- If an existing password account has the same email, Immigranter returns to Login with an explanation.
- Sign in with the existing email and password.
- Open Profile > Profile & Account.
- Select Connect Google.
- Use the Google account with the same email.
After connection, either Google or the existing password can be used to sign in.
Troubleshooting
No Account Or Invitation
Public registration is disabled and the Google email does not match an existing user or active invitation. Contact your workspace administrator.
Different Google Account Already Linked
The Immigranter account already has another Google identity attached. Contact your workspace administrator to resolve the account ownership before changing the link.
